getLatestTotals returning the same counts for the past few days

The getLatestTotals API has been returning the same totals for the past few days. It seems stuck here:

[
{
“confirmed”: 93307139,
“recovered”: 65910267,
“critical”: 108595,
“deaths”: 2642052,
“lastChange”: “2021-01-10T23:44:35+01:00”,
“lastUpdate”: “2021-01-10T23:45:04+01:00”
}

I’ve noticed that, too. Hoping this gets fixed soon… my COVID data is STALE! 😉

Feels like the Service Level should not be at 100% if the data is not updating. I understand that the API itself is functioning but with stale data, it’s not very useful.

@gramzivi - any thoughts? Your dashboard shows the same update day of 2021-01-10.

Looks like things are back! Any notes about what was broken?

The date for the data being given is still for 1-10-2021 for me…both in my code and when I run the endpoint here.
@pbertain, is the date still current day for you?

Still broken for me … still showing:

“confirmed”: 93307139,
“recovered”: 65910267,
“critical”: 108595,
“deaths”: 2642052,
“lastChange”: “2021-01-10T23:44:35+01:00”,
“lastUpdate”: “2021-01-10T23:45:04+01:00”

Ah… I didn’t actually check the dates. 😦 Sorry… I’ll check them a little later but on my (crappy) dashboard, I saw the US move above 400,000 deaths after sitting at just under that when bren-m reported this issue:

I think I am getting the data from 1/27 (below). That’s why my numbers for the US show over 400k for deaths. This data was doing well for so long… this outage is rough. We’re getting so close to the end that I’d hate to dig around and find another API and cut my calls over to that one but might have to at this point.

@pbertain - you must have magic powers because the API still returns the same stuck data for me 😃

@bren-m: Here are sample curls I use for verification:

USA data:

curl -H’x-rapidapi-key: 4a9b7c50edmsh3b89fc2aa5cd47dp1bd2ccjsn6bd287bec4d9’ -H’x-rapidapi-host: covid-19-data.p.rapidapi.com’ “https://rapidapi.p.rapidapi.com/country?name=usa

World data:

curl -H’x-rapidapi-key: 4a9b7c50edmsh3b89fc2aa5cd47dp1bd2ccjsn6bd287bec4d9’ -H’x-rapidapi-host: covid-19-data.p.rapidapi.com’ “https://rapidapi.p.rapidapi.com/totals?format=undefined

And here are the results:

curl -H’x-rapidapi-key: <api key>’ -H’x-rapidapi-host: covid-19-data.p.rapidapi.com’ “https://rapidapi.p.rapidapi.com/totals?format=undefined

[{“confirmed”:103268494,“recovered”:73798023,“critical”:108595,“deaths”:2862574,“lastChange”:“2021-01-27T23:00:48+01:00”,“lastUpdate”:“2021-01-27T23:00:50+01:00”}]

curl -H’x-rapidapi-key: <api key>’ -H’x-rapidapi-host: covid-19-data.p.rapidapi.com’ “https://rapidapi.p.rapidapi.com/country?name=usa

[{“country”:“USA”,“code”:“US”,“confirmed”:26125276,“recovered”:15862409,“critical”:29045,“deaths”:438421,“latitude”:37.09024,“longitude”:-95.712891,“lastChange”:“2021-01-27T22:50:08+01:00”,“lastUpdate”:“2021-01-27T23:00:50+01:00”}]

I see in my previous example, it looks like the update was from 2020. Anyway, still bummed… I would love to get some fresh data but also don’t have time to find another APi. 😦

We had several issues with our data providers, the problem is fixed now. Sorry for inconvenience
