In our business case, we could potentially send hundreds of zip codes in a single request to get their boundaries within a given state. We are using the jQuery approach. It appears that when there are many zip codes, this will cause a 414 error to come back from the API saying that the request URI was too large.

I guess if we have to we could make multiple calls to the API for each state, however we don’t know what the threshold is and it isn’t optimal because the additional calls needed would count extra against our quota just to get a full geoJSON response for certain zip codes within a particular state.

Can someone tell me if there is way to allow sending large numbers of zip codes to the API at one time or what the threshold is for either the number of zip codes sent or URI size?
