As of February 11th, 2019, we will be deprecating the Mashape API marketplace UI (market.mashape.com), and will start redirecting visitors to the newer RapidAPI Marketplace. This change will not affect your applications and APIs, which are already available on RapidAPI.com.
Almost 2 years ago, we announced the acquisition of the Mashape Marketplace. Since then, we have been hard at work merging the Mashape and RapidAPI platforms to create what is now the world’s largest API marketplace. Following that process, the two platforms are completely merged – any data on Mashape (accounts, APIs, application, keys etc) is available on RapidAPI as well. You can use your Mashape credentials to log into RapidAPI, you can edit & view your Mashape API on RapidAPI, and you can see and manage your API subscriptions on RapidAPI.
Moving forward, we are going to be focusing on maintaining and improving the RapidAPI platform to make it easier for anybody to discover, test, and consume APIs. We’ve just recently introduced a completely revamped version of our marketplace – improving API discovery and testing, and a brand new version of the API provider dashboard to improve publishing and managing APIs on RapidAPI.
With that in mind, we are going to finally deprecate the Mashape UI on February 11th and all traffic to it will be redirected to the corresponding page on RapidAPI. The rest of this article will include a guide on where to find things on RapidAPI if you are used to using Mashape, as well as FAQs about the transition. As always – if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at support@rapidapi.com.

What will happen if I’m using an API through Mashape?
If you are using an API through Mashape, your application will continue to work as normal. All the API requests will continue working with the same address and API key – no changes required. To see information, analytics, and invoices & to explore new APIs, head to RapidAPI.com rather than market.mashape.com.
What will happen to my API if it’s on Mashape?
All your users will continue using your API as usual, and it is available through RapidAPI.com. To manage your API, head over to rapidapi.com/provider – you’ll get all the same management functionality as you had in Mashape, and you’ll see all of your existing users there.
If your website is linking to your API page on Mashape, we suggest switching to the link on RapidAPI. (https://rapidapi.com/your-username/api/your-api-name).
What New Features are Available Through RapidAPI?
We can’t wait for you to check out all of the new features available on RapidAPI! With so many new features available on RapidAPI, that weren’t available on Mashape, we wanted to highlight a few for you to check out.
Revamped Marketplace
Two months ago, we announced a fully redesigned version of the RapidAPI marketplace. This design overhaul included new features like API collections, API metrics like latency and success rate shown directly in search, and an updated design to the endpoints page to facilitate quicker testing of APIs. Our aim was to make it even easier for developers to find and consume APIs, so if you’re just now transitioning from Mashape to RapidAPI we can’t wait to hear what you think!
New Provider Dashboard
Whether you already have an API ready to offer or you’re just now brainstorming an idea for an API, the RapidAPI Provider dashboard provides a really intuitive interface for you to define and manage your APIs. For providers already listing an API on RapidAPI (even if it was on-boarded on Mashape), you can use the new provider dashboard to keep your API up to date, as well as dig into analytics on your API consumption. Our new analytics feature let you gain deeper insights on your API usage & performance, and segment your users based on their API consumption.
Improved Proxy
The RapidAPI engine for handling API request has been overhauled recently to provider faster API response times and improved security by validating each and every request against the API schema before sending it to the upstream API. Later in February-March, we’ll be rolling out to more datacenter regions around the world to provide even faster API latency.
