Simple & no-nonsense podcast search & directory API. Search the meta data of almost all podcasts & episodes in the world by people, places, or topics. It’s the same API that powers the No. 1 podcast search engine Listen Notes.

We are retiring this version of API from RapidAPI. Please use the latest version v2 at https://www.listennotes.com/api/

We’ll keep v1 running on RapidAPI. But all future improvements will go to v2.

Learn how to migrate to v2: https://www.listennotes.com/api/pricing/#faq-9

Thanks again for using Listen API v1 (via RapidAPI)!

In March 2019, we launched Listen API v2: https://www.listennotes.com/api/

If you are still using Listen API v1 (via RapidAPI), I would encourage you to switch to v2 on our website, for a few reasons:

  1. We are actively improving Listen API v2, e.g., adding new endpoints, adding new data fields, upgrading infrastructure… On the other hand, Listen API v1 (via RapidAPI) is in maintenance mode - we have to move on and focus on v2. We don’t plan to shutdown v1, but it won’t get better.
  2. v2 is at least 2x faster and way more stable than v1, because v1 relies on RapidAPI and all v1 requests need to go through RapidAPI servers before hitting our servers, adding a lot of latency. And if RapidAPI servers have outage, which happened a few times before, we can’t do anything to bring the service back, because v1 API requests go through a domain name (listennotes.p.rapidapi.com) that we don’t have control of…
  3. We can’t contact you individually. Listen API v1 is hosted on RapidAPI. And as a platform, RapidAPI doesn’t allow API providers to have direct relationship with API users (you). We don’t have your emails. We have to send messages (via RapidAPI) to ALL users, even the message is not relevant to most of you (like this one…).

Thanks! Let me know if you have any questions: hello@listennotes.com
