Can we store it in an encrypted format possibly?

My goal isn’t to make less api calls. But develop an app with a bit of
intelligence and that requires knowing what words were studied.

Or perhaps you could sell a list of words…

Unfortunately, the answer is no. We have a strict policy that the data must not be kept on client devices and/or your servers.

In addition, it is more beneficial for you to make calls on-the-fly as the answer sets change and grow as our database grows.

The clause you quoted is simply saying that duplicating or recreating our API as an API or repackaging in a different form to sell/resell is prohibited. Furthermore, the storing of our data for the purpose of mining our data or reverse-engineering our technology is not allowed.
