Getting the user ID

When we authenticate a user, the only thing returned is a token. We know either the username or email address because that’s what we sent.

To get the library though, we need the ID of the user. As far as I can see, there is no way to get this via the API. Additionally, library updates require only the token.

It would be nice if I could just do everything with the token though as it’s easy to store securely on my platform.

It should now be possible to use “me” as the user ID to refer to the current user, when an auth_token is supplied.

As was pointed out here, this token is the same for everyone, so using the token will succeed, but nothing will be returned. I’ll open a new issue for that in a moment for tracking it.
