API not giving response result for Indian sub continent

I have tried geocoding with API for multiple locations in Indian subcontinent, but it wont return any results (the result list is empty).
i am using python along with request library
Please help with solutions

Perhaps you are setting the wrong country code in the “country” parameter. This parameter must be a 2-character country code (ISO 3166-1). For India it is “IN”.
