Where are the api terms?
Attribution is optional and not required.
We definitely encourage our subscribers to make commercial apps with our APIs. In fact, we’ll even try to help increase your visibility once your done by sharing it with our network; just send a link to email@example.com when you’re done!
The clause you quoted is simply saying that duplicating or recreating our API as an API or repackaging in a different form to sell/resell is prohibited. Furthermore, the storing of our data for the purpose of mining our data or reverse-engineering our technology is not allowed.
Hope that clears it up!
Is there any attribution required in our app?
Thanks for your interest. Our terms can be found at https://www.twinword.com/terms.php
That Terms of Service applies to our API and other products too.
I’m confused about this
"COMMERCIAL REUSE OF SERVICES
The member or user herein agrees not to replicate, duplicate, copy, trade, sell, resell nor exploit for any commercial reason any part, use of, or access to Twinword’s sites."
Can I make a commercial app with the api?
Please let me know if you have any questions and are confused by the legal lingo.
Can we save the data on the client app?
Thanks for the question.
Unfortunately, the answer is no. We have a strict policy that the data must not be kept on client devices and/or your servers.
In addition, it is more beneficial for you to make calls on-the-fly as the answer sets change and grow as our database grows.
Hope that answers your questions.
Thanks for the reply.
The reason I asked is how can we generate a report of a users progress… For instance you learned the following words…
Thanks for your question.
Unfortunately, our policy is strict. We understand the feature you are trying to implement, but saving the data of the API results of any kind is not allowed.
Sorry for the bad news. Please feel free to reach out again if you have any questions.
I’m also trying to avoid repeating the same word that has already
Can we store it in an encrypted format possibly?
My goal isn’t to make less api calls. But develop an app with a bit of
intelligence and that requires knowing what words were studied.
Or perhaps you could sell a list of words…
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and include your organization name, the contact person’s name, and the app name you will publish under.
