Hello There,
I’m working on a recommendation engine and to improve the performance of my application, I wanted to import enough recipes directly into my app so that I don’t have to always query the spoonacular api.

  1. From a legal point of view, am I allowed to do that?
  2. If yes, is there an easier way to do this aside using the recipe search endpoint?

Thanks.

Hi,

  1. No, but you are allowed to cache recipes for exactly that purpose. Just make sure you update every recipe at least once every 10 days to make sure you get the latest data. We improve our algorithms and ingredient nutrition all the time and do not want stale data out there.
  2. Just remember all recipes you are currently caching and call the recipe information endpoint to refresh the cached data.

Hope that helps?
Best,
David
