Questions about product_ids

I have a question about the product_id field you provide.
In same cases, the product_id is not a single number, but looks like this: 1:4300430493502786524
It seems not to be a proper google shopping product id - could you clarify where these IDs come from and how to interpret them?
Similarly, what is the meaning of product_id_v2? Does it identify a particular variant of the product?

Thanks for your great effort!

Hi there,

Thank you for your questions.

You can safely ignore product_id_v2 for now.

Regarding product ids that start with “1:”: There are 2 variations of Google Product URLs on Google Shopping -

  1. https://www.google.com/shopping/product/1?gl=us&hl=en&prds=pid%3A15963605545882561157 - This corresponds to a product with an id that starts with “:1”. In this case, the URL ends with “product/1” and the product id is included within the “prds” querystring parameter. The product_id of this product is 1:15963605545882561157 From what I’ve seen, these kind of products have a single offer. Generally, the ids are used by the API to fetch information of a specific product like reviews and offers, using the relevant endpoints.
  2. https://www.google.com/shopping/product/17322125598112072618?gl=us&hl=en&prds=pid%3A2707744619062023 - This is a product with product_id=17322125598112072618.

Thank you,
Adam
