Headers

We recommend that you set accept-encoding header to gzip. This will use less bandwidth and will speed up responses with large payloads.

Failed requests are free

In the rare event that our API fails to get a requested page it will return a 5** response status code and the request will not count toward quota or be charged.

Response timeout

Most websites accessed through our API have average response times of 2 to 8 seconds, but we recommend that you set your timeout to be at least 30 seconds.
