Troubleshooting new cases for specific countries

While utilizing VACCOVID, I noticed “new cases” for most countries were logged at 0 while other figures such as total case count and deaths were accurate. Even on https://vaccovid.live/ , most new cases logged are zero, may I enquire if I have misunderstood the meaning of new cases or is there something wrong with the API?

Hi there. thanks for the comment.
The real mechanism for fetching data in this API, is that it updates whole data every 5 minutes. Since any country updates its own data based on different time-zones, every 24 hours, the new-cases gets updated once to 0, and then to the real numbers. And it happens only when the country reveals its own data.
You can simply add an if() statement to check for passing data.
If it was 0, it shouldn’t update new_cases.
