Genre IDs

So I’m playing with the advanced search and I just want to display all the titles from a specific genre. When I make a request with 0 as the genre ID, I get ~10k results of all different genres.

Does that mean 0 is all genres?

So say I want to find movies that are of the “All Action” genre. There are 21 different IDs I can use as the genre ID (10673, 10702, etc.). What do these represent? Is there a genre ID I can use to just get all action movies?

EDIT: I just found this list https://www.zmonline.com/the-latest/here-are-the-secret-netflix-codes-that-unlock-tons-of-hidden-movies-and-shows/ Can the codes that are next to the main genre names be used to get all the titles from that genre? Example: Action & Adventure (1365) – can I use 1365 as the genre ID to return all titles with Action & Adventure as the main genre

Ah that makes sense! RapidAPI’s endpoint testing doesn’t let me put commas into the genreid field and I hadnt tried making the request anywhere else yet. Thanks!

There is no 1 genre id for any general genre, you will need to use blocks of csv of individual genres…

e.g. all action:

10673,10702,11804,11828,1192487,1365,1568,2125,2653,43040,43048,4344,46576,75418,76501,77232,788212,801362,852490,899,9584

If you use the unogs.com website you can stack your own genres or use the pre-rolled ones from the drop down
