The API has been updated to a new minor version (v1.22.2-rc), which brings the newly added ‘limitToQuery’ parameter to the ‘GetRandomVerse’ endpoint. With this new parameter, you can limit the return to a specific query. For example, ‘GetRandomVerse?versionId=kjv&limitToBookId=nt&limitToQuery=faith’ will limit the randomized return to a verse wherein the word ‘faith’ is found. This is a useful option for targeting specific subjects while still maintaining randomization.
