Location specificity

Question

Hello. Thank you for this API. I am playing around with it and trying to figure out the location specificity for the location value "q".

For example: suppose I wanted results for Portland, OR (Oregon).  I can submit "Portland" to the API and get 10 results for several cities named Portland, including the one in Oregon. But, I can't figure out how to submit the specific value for just Portland, OR.  For example, if I try anything like these...

Portland, OR
Portland, Oregon
Portland OR
Portland Oregon
Oregon Portland
etc.

...I get a successful response from the API, but it includes zero cities.

Can you clarify the formatting for the location value in order to more directly target specific locations?
