Real words not showing up

Question

I am working on a program that tests real words versus fake words and the API keeps detecting real words as not found landing real words into a 'fake' pile.   Here is an example:

The word 'besting' is a real word, yet the result shows up as:

What gives?

It is in the dictionary. It's the "gerund or past participle of best". They can't include every suffice ("ed", "ing", "ly", "tion", "ing", ...) or the dictionary would be nearly infinite.
