How to utilize Spoonacular API in testing environment without incurring charges?

I currently get charged for using Spoonacular API through testing keys. I am in development phase of my application and we nee d to find a way to use this API for testing without incurring charges while we are in development.

If you are at a hackathon or are affiliated with a University you can apply for academic access. Other than that, there are no “testing keys” and you would just need to use the free BASIC plan.
