Introduction

The Flag Status API provides you access to half-staff events for all state flags and the U.S. flag. Whether you manage the flag at a place of business or at home, it’s important to be respectful and fly the flag appropriately. Flying a flag at half-staff or half-mast is a sign for grief and mourning. It is flown following the death of certain government officials, in times of national distress, on various holidays, and at any other time as instructed by the president or government.

Pricing Plans and Usage

Basic - This plan is suited for developers who want to try out the API for building apps or websites.
Pro - This plan is suited for small, personal apps or websites for occasional use.
Ultra - This plan provides full half-staff events and well suited for heavier commercial usage.
Mega - Enjoy unlimited requests for all endpoints. Best for enterprise usage.

Endpoints (all endpoints are GET methods)

/status/XX -> returns current status of ‘Full-staff’ or ‘Half-staff’ for the abbreviation provided in the path parameter ‘XX’
/events/XX -> returns all half-staff events for the abbreviation provided in the path parameter ‘XX’
/all -> returns every half-staff state and U.S. flag event for the last 180 days
