The Notion to Markdown API is a powerful tool designed to bridge the gap between Notion’s rich content management system and the simplicity and versatility of Markdown. This API allows developers to convert their Notion pages into Markdown formatted text, enabling seamless integration of Notion content into platforms and systems that support Markdown.

How it Works

The API works by leveraging Notion’s internal integration token, which provides access to the user’s Notion workspace. It can fetch the content of any page within the workspace that has been made available to internal integration and convert it into Markdown format. This includes text, headings, lists, tables, and other elements supported by Notion’s editor.

The conversion process maintains the structure and hierarchy of the original Notion page, ensuring that the resulting Markdown document accurately represents the original content. This includes preserving nested lists, table structures, and other complex formatting that may be present in the Notion page.

Please note that as of now, this API only works with pages that are accessible via the Notion API key (internal integration token) and ones that have added the internal integration. This means that the API can only convert pages from workspaces where the integration has been installed and granted the necessary permissions.
