The Yellow Calendar (Huangli), also called the Imperial Calendar, is a Chinese divination guide and almanac.

Most of the contents deals with what is suitable to do on each day. Some Chinese families still follow these days for wedding ceremonies, funerals, etc.

  • liuyao (string): The liuyao (six influences) text for the date, indicating what should be done on that day. eg. “友引”
  • rizhu (string): The lunar day Chinese zodiac sign. eg. “乙未”
  • yuezhu (string): The lunar month Chinese zodiac sign. eg. “丙午”
  • nianzhu (string): The lunar year Chinese zodiac sign. “丁丑”
  • lu (string): The Lu of the date. Lu is one of the Four Pillar Deities, and is the main deity of official salary in folk beliefs. “卯命互禄”
  • xiu (string): The astrological song of the day. eg. “壁星造作主增财,丝蚕大熟福滔天,奴婢自来人口进,开门放水出英贤,埋葬招财官品进,家中诸事乐陶然,婚姻吉利主贵子,早播名誉著祖鞭。”
