Username/email for /users/authenticate is case sensitive?

I’m not sure if it’s a problem for everyone or just me because AFAIK no-one has reported this issue.

The problem is that when I try using /users/authenticate to login I have to capitalize the first character of my username or else it will say that my login credentials are incorrect. Same with email.

ie. using TEMpest as my username to login will not work. I have to use Tempest

Yes. The username is case-sensitive. 😕 Right now even on the website it’s the same (e.g. inket vs INket)

I just checked and logging in with the site is fine. The email is not case sensitive although on the API it is.

For the links you posted I found that if you use any username downcase it works fine. Because I use Tempest with a capital T to login and if I use tempest it works fine. I’m guessing that link is’t really used much by normal users but I guess for QOL it should be fixed.

The only thing that’s changed is that now it requires downcase usernames (for both API authentication & urls). That probably broke a bunch of apps right now.

Ideally, the server should handle matching cases.
