Java and Objective C Added to the Marketplace

Get excited, mobile developers! We’ve just added Java and Objective-C as languages to the marketplace. Now, when you export a code snippet, you can add it straight into your Android and iOS applications.

Source: Dribbble

Here’s how it works.

When you visit an API’s function page, you can select the language you want to see the code snippet in. Check out this example with the NASA package below (because who doesn’t love space?!).

One thing we should note. While you don’t need an account to call an API from RapidAPI, you do have to be logged in to see the code snippet. You can create an account by clicking the “login” button or “sign up.”

You can sign in by creating an account with an email address or by logging in with a GitHub, Facebook or Google account.

But what about Swift?

We hear ya, iOS fans. Ultimately, we decided to incorporate Objective-C first. All Swift apps also support Objective-C, but the reverse is not the case. To make this functionality available to the most developers possible, we decided to go with Objective-C.

If you are an iOS developer that usually writes in Swift, never fear! We are working to add Swift to the marketplace as well. In the meantime, however, check out this handy tool that converts Objective-C to Swift.

If you have any questions, shoot us a message at help@RapidAPI.com or via that little chat box in the corner of the website. In the meantime, happy coding! We can’t wait to see what you create.
