Paw – Now RapidAPI For Mac

You may have noticed last week that there has been a lot of excitement around the new Rapid brand. Today we are excited to announce that Paw is officially getting a rebrand experience of its own.

As of today, Paw has been formally rebranded to RapidAPI for Mac.

For those of you who haven’t used it previously, Paw is a fully featured API Client built to accelerate the API development process with the ability to quickly run and organize advanced API requests in a native Mac app. But its function is not limited to a Mac experience, in fact if you have used the Requests capabilities in RapidAPI Studio or in its VS Code extension you have used Paw’s (ahem I mean RapidAPI for Mac) features and functionality.

The Paw brand is going away but all its capabilities are here to stay. In fact, along with this brand update we are adding new features we would encourage you to check out including:

  • Granular Searchthe ability to search your project list
  • Improved Categorization – the ability to sort environment variables by name
  • gRPC error console – an error console for your gRPC files that shows issues before you send a request

To get these new capabilities, simply update to RapidAPI for Mac V4.0.0 (see link below). Along with these features you will also see the new visual, branded updates. But if you feel nostalgic for the Paw fox logo you can easily select it in your icon preferences.

Check out the full list of new additions and bug fixes in V4.0.0 on the download page.

Experience an Expanded and Integrated Workflow with the RapidAPI platform

With RapidAPI for Mac you can also take advantage of the rest that Rapid and the RapidAPI platform has to offer, including the ability to discover, use, test, publish and even monetize APIs. Most importantly the work that you do in RapidAPI for Mac is accessible and automatically synced across the rest of the RapidAPI platform, including in RapidAPI Studio and the VS Code extension. Through this bidirectional connection you can move across your native Mac app, to the browser, and to one of the world’s most popular IDEs without ever losing context or having to restart your work. This goes for you both as an individual user as well as your team members who might collaborate on your APIs through different interfaces.

We want these experiences to be accessible to everyone everywhere so along with today’s update we are also officially making individual licenses of RapidAPI for Mac free! If you are not already a member of the RapidAPI for Mac community, you can download the app here.

Explore more of Rapid

For those who have been with us for some time we want you to explore even more and make the most of what Rapid has to offer so today we are issuing a credit equal to the lifetime license fee for Paw, which you can apply in the RapidAPI platform. Use it to try out testing, subscribe to APIs, or apply it to your team fees.  Check your emails for instructions on how to redeem this credit.

If you purchased Paw between July 1, 2022 and now, you’ll be issued a refund automatically. If you don’t see a refund, contact us at pawrebrand@rapidapi.com and we’ll be happy to help get you sorted.

As you can tell, we’re excited about these updates, but we know that you might have some questions.  Below are the answers to what we expect might be top of mind.

Does the rebrand mean Paw is going away?

Absolutely not – the only thing changing is the name and branding.

What happens to my Paw for Teams pricing?

Pricing for teams remains the same, $10/mo/user for teams over 5.

I paid for a lifetime license for Paw. Was that money just wasted now that you made it free?

We hope that you have already gotten plenty of value from Paw to feel like it was a sound investment, but most importantly we’d like to thank you for being a member of the Paw community. For those users that purchased a lifetime license you have been given a credit to use within the RapidAPI platform equal to the value of the license fee. For example, try out testing in RapidAPI Studio, subscribe to APIs on RapidAPI Hub, or apply it to your team’s usage.

I bought a lifetime license but didn’t receive my credit, now what?

First off, we’re sorry that you haven’t yet received your credit –  contact our support team at: pawrebrand@rapidapi.com and we would be happy to assist you.
