Introducing Our New Brand: Rapid

We are stoked to launch the refreshed Rapid brand! As many of you have likely noticed over the past year, we have radically expanded the types of software, services and support we provide to you – our developer community. Today, we take another major step forward with the evolution of our brand – updating our visual language and renaming RapidAPI to Rapid. And while this new brand is an important milestone for the company, one thing remains an unshakeable foundation of our company – we are developers building software for developers first and foremost. And we are focused more than ever on delivering the next-generation API platform to power the industry.

We are really excited to have a new brand and visual language that reflects the core values guiding our product development – empowering developers & enabling creativity. When you look at our new logo you may see an R, a duck face, a baby octopus, a GPS pin or a bunch of other things. That is precisely how we feel when we look at an API and an open code editor window – it can become so many things. That’s why we are so excited about this mark.   

The API economy has continued to evolve and change and so have the needs of the modern developer. Driving this change is a generational shift in the technologies powering APIs and enterprise buying patterns. And now, more so than ever, developers serve as a critical constituent in enterprise infrastructure and tooling choices. This change challenges current API design patterns and tools in the API space and creates a ripe opportunity for disruption.

We are at a precipice in our industry as it reaches a point of exponential growth. Rapid’s mission is to empower developers with everything they need to create transformative software. The goal of our new brand identity was to better encompass our leadership as a next-generation platform built for the modern developer. And as part of the rebrand, we have launched a new digital presence and expanded the ways developers can interact with our community, products and platform.  

Today more than 4 million developers use Rapid’s public API hub, which has more than 40,000 APIs from leading companies like Twilio, Microsoft, Google and more. And leading Fortune 1000 companies can customize a private version of the RapidAPI Hub to provide developers and third-party partners with everything they need to find, connect to and manage these “Lego” blocks to create new digital services.

At Rapid, we have always prided ourselves on having our finger on the API economy and a very good sense of what technology needs to be in place that allows the API economy to grow exponentially. We have never been afraid to evolve with the market to best serve developers.

The growth of Rapid has been tremendous over the last year, we have more than doubled in size as a company and expanded our global footprint. This is incredible, and it would not be possible without the support and feedback of our developer community.
