We are thrilled to present the June 2023 feature updates for the Rapid Enterprise API Hub. Our team has worked hard to bring you new features and improvements uniquely designed to enhance your experience with our platform. In this blog post, we will explore the key highlights of this release and how they can benefit your enterprise.
What New Features have we added to the Rapid Enterprise API Hub?
- DocuSign Integration for API Contracts: API providers now have the option to require API consumers to DocuSign a contract before subscribing to an API plan. This integration ensures that both parties clearly understand the terms and conditions, providing an added layer of security and accountability.
- Enhanced Support for SOAP APIs: Rapid’s Enterprise Hub now offers the ability to view the WSDL uploaded natively, making it easier for API consumers to understand and utilize the SOAP service.
In addition to the WSDL file, SOAP API providers can now utilize Assets to provide supplementary files to API consumers. This enhancement offers flexibility and convenience when sharing essential resources with SOAP API users.
- Improved User Access Request Notifications: RapidAPI Environment Admins will directly receive email notifications when a new user requests access to the Hub. This proactive communication ensures that admins stay informed about access requests, streamlining the approval process and enhancing user management.
- Expanded Authorization Options: APIs now support the BEARER authorization type, allowing for more diverse authentication methods. Furthermore, OAuth2 password grant types are now supported, enabling seamless integration with password-based authentication systems.
- Node.js Example for Platform API: We have added A new Node.js example, demonstrating how to utilize the RapidAPI Platform API to read a user’s teams, apps, and authorizations. This addition simplifies the development process and provides a starting point for implementing advanced functionality.
What Improvements have we made to existing functionality?
- Enhanced Traffic Analytics in RapidAPI Studio: Studio now offers improved traffic analytics, allowing users to view API calls, errors, and average latency simultaneously on a single chart. We have introduced filtering options to refine the data based on various parameters, providing deeper insights into API performance.
- Real-Time Analytics: Analytics data in Rapid Enterprise API Hub is now closer to real-time, with an improved maximum display time of 30 seconds. This enhancement enables users to monitor and respond to API usage trends more effectively.
- GraphQL API Listing and Playground Enhancements: We have optimized the API listing and playground experience for GraphQL APIs. The latest query or mutation and variables are now cached for each API version, reducing repetitive input. We have improved the schema explorer for more straightforward navigation and simplified the query-building process for enhanced usability.
- Enhanced Admin Panel User Interface: The Admin Panel has an improved user interface. Categories and Collections now offer a more intuitive and organized approach for managing and categorizing APIs, facilitating better organization and search capabilities.
