What are Animal APIs?
To put it simply, an animal API provides developers with access to animal-specific information, data or photographs that they can use on their platform as they see fit. APIs, otherwise known as application interface programs, provide developers with pre-generated coding infrastructure that allows their platforms to connect with external servers to use other platforms and developers’ features and functions.
There are many different types of animal APIs available for developers to use as they see fit. Developers can choose their animal API based on a variety of different factors, including how relevant the API is and the kind of information they’re looking to receive. For instance, there are photo databases and informational libraries and access to tracking and statistics for endangered animals. Using the APIs, developers can integrate the information and overall functionality directly onto their platform without having to code these features manually.
Who is the Target Audience for Animal APIs?
There are several key target audiences for an animal API based on how the user will interact with the API. Traditionally, of course, APIs themselves benefit developers and web admins creating platforms for third-party users. APIs save developers hours, if not days of work coding and testing code snippets that connect their platforms to external servers with the specific information they wish to provide their users.
However, end-users still directly benefit from these animal API alternatives. Without these APIs, end-users across dozens of platforms may not receive reliable access to a slew of animal-related features on their favorite websites and apps. Therefore, while many of the APIs came to be to make the lives of developers more manageable, the focus audience tends to be end-users looking for specific and relevant information on a variety of different animal-related topics.
